Food Security & Environmental Management (FOSEMA) Field Activities – Rachuonyo East

Community Initiative Support Services (CISS) continues to implement interventions geared towards Environmental & Climate Change Management by carrying out relevant training to targeted stakeholders in the community. On Tuesday, 16th February, the Rachuonyo Field team led by Herine Kawaka trained teachers and community representatives on vegetable farming and woodlots establishment and later conducted a tree planting drive at Odino Primary School.

Other interventions and activities include training of youth support groups on entrepreneurial skills aimed at developing their entrepreneurial capacities and mindsets. This was demonstrated by the Mikayi Bodaboda Group which had purchased a pick-up motorcycle from their savings and contributions. Such training opportunities play a key role in cultivating future entrepreneurs and in developing the abilities of existing entrepreneurs to grow their business to greater levels of success.

The activities were graced by Mr. Robert Owino (Director – CISS), Mr. Odidi Mitchel (Admin & HR Manager – CISS), Mr. Peter Obuya – Representative from DCC Office, the Sub-County Education Officer and other community stakeholders.
